Banda Aceh (August 15-16, 2024)– The Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Universitas Syiah Kuala (FVM-USK), drh. Teuku Reza Ferasyi, M. Sc, Ph.D., opened the Academic and Character Development Program for New Students (Pakarmaru) 2024 at the Auditorium of the FVM-USK. The Chair of the Pakarmaru 2024 Organizing Committee FVM USK, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Partnerships, Dr. drh. Faisal Jamin, M.Si, stated that the number of participants in Pakarmaru was 230, consisting of 11 students from the D3 Veterinary Health program and 219 from the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine program. According to Faisal, the event themed “Committed, Synergistic and Innovative,” targets two major goals: academic development and character building for new students, guiding them to complete their studies on time, achieve the best GPA, attain numerous achievements, and succeed in their future careers with relevant and promising professions.

Dean of FVM-USK, drh. Teuku Reza Ferasyi, M. Sc, Ph.D., in his opening speech, not only introduced the faculty in general but also motivated the new students to excel in both academic and non-academic areas. The speakers for the new student orientation included the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FVM-USK, Dr. drh. Erwin, M.Si, and the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Partnerships, Dr. drh. Faisal Jamin, M.Si. The event was also attended by members of the Indonesian Veterinary Association (PDHI) Aceh branch and was led by the Student Executive Board (BEM) advisor for FVM-USK and the Pakarmaru 2024 mentor.
