Banda Aceh, December 4th 2024 – The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Syiah Kuala University (FVM USK), held a Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) Workshop on Strengthening Competencies and International Standard Innovation Products for the UPT Animal Laboratory and Animal Teaching Hospital (RSHP) on 4 December 2024 at the FVM USK Auditorium.

The workshop was officially opened by the Dean of FVM USK, who emphasized the importance of continuous improvement in laboratory and hospital services to meet international standards. “Our goal is to position the UPT Animal Laboratory and RSHP as centers of excellence in veterinary research and animal care that adhere to global best practices,” he stated in his opening remarks.

The workshop featured presentations by all laboratory coordinators, who provided detailed reports on the progress of competency enhancement initiatives and the development of innovative products aligned with international standards. Each coordinator highlighted key achievements, ongoing challenges, and strategic plans to further improve the quality of research, diagnostics, and clinical services offered by their respective units.

The event also included interactive discussions where participants, including faculty members, researchers, and laboratory staff, shared their insights and suggestions for future improvements. Topics such as biosafety compliance, advanced diagnostic techniques, and the integration of technology in laboratory management were among the key areas discussed.

In his closing remarks, the Dean expressed his appreciation for the collaborative efforts of the laboratory teams and encouraged them to maintain their commitment to excellence. “By continuously enhancing our competencies and fostering innovation, we can significantly contribute to the advancement of veterinary science and animal health, both nationally and internationally,” he concluded.

The Monev Workshop is part of FVM USK’s ongoing initiatives to ensure the UPT Animal Laboratory and RSHP remain at the forefront of veterinary education, research, and services in Indonesia.
