Banda Aceh, December 18, 2024 – The Veterinary Professional Education Program at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Syiah Kuala University, has graduated 96 new veterinarians. All the graduates were inaugurated and took their oaths, led by the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Drh. Teuku Reza Ferasyi, M.Sc., Ph.D., at the AAC Dayan Dawood Building.
In his speech, Reza Ferasyi stated that among the 96 graduates, 41 individuals graduated with honors, achieving the distinction of cum laude. Additionally, 10 of the graduates completed their studies through the Bidikmisi scholarship program, while one graduate benefited from an affirmative scholarship.
Reza Ferasyi emphasized that all the graduates have earned the title of veterinarian, having successfully passed the Veterinary Professional Program Competency Examination on October 26, 2024.
This achievement is particularly remarkable because the new graduates come from diverse economic backgrounds and provinces across Indonesia. This success reflects the significant milestones achieved by the faculty, including ISO certification, the accreditation of several programs as excellent, and the international accreditation of the professional program. These accomplishments highlight the substantial progress made by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Syiah Kuala University (FKH USK). “We proudly declare that FKH USK is one of the best veterinary faculties in Indonesia,” Reza Ferasyi stated.
Dr. Drh. M. Munawwaroh, M.M., Chairperson of the Indonesian Veterinary Medical Association (PB-PDHI), also acknowledged the significant development of FKH USK. He advised the new graduates to dedicate their knowledge to society and to uphold the professional ethics of veterinarians in their work. He also urged parents or guardians not to limit the areas where these new veterinarians could serve. “Allow them to contribute their expertise wherever they are needed. Let them dedicate their knowledge to the nation and the country. Please give your sons and daughters the freedom to serve all across Indonesia,” he said.
The Rector of USK, Prof. Dr. Ir. Marwan, extended his congratulations to all the new veterinarians on their achievement. The Rector reminded them that the veterinary profession is not static. The rapid development of science and technology requires them to continually learn and adapt. “Therefore, be professionals who not only rely on the knowledge you have acquired but also remain open to lifelong learning,” he advised.
On this occasion, the Rector also expressed his appreciation to the leadership of FKH USK for their achievements at both national and global levels. “This aligns with USK’s commitment to continuously enhance the quality of learning and education at FKH. As the leader of USK, I will always provide full support for programs aimed at improving educational standards and achieving World-Class University status,” he concluded.
