The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) delegation visited the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Syiah Kuala. This visitation was a response visit, where in November 2022, the Dean of FVM USK and his staff paid a visit to the FVM UMK.
Dean of FKH USK drh. Teuku Reza Ferasyi, M.Sc., Ph.D, in his remarks, said that he was pleased with this visit, especially because this will strengthen and realize the cooperation plan that has been prepared together.
The visit to FKH USK began with a visit to the Teaching Animal Hospital (RSHP), followed by a visit to the Laboratory of Research, Laboratory of Histology, Laboratory of Microbiology, Laboratory of Anatomy, and Laboratory of Parasitology.
Dean of FVM UMK Dr. Mohd. Farhan Hanif bin Reduan in his speech said that this response visit was very important for UMK. Through this visit, it will be possible to ascertain further the extent of education and research that can carry out immediately between the two faculties.
During this visit, FVM UMK Horse Reproduction Expert Prof. Dr. Mohd. Azam Khan Goriman Khan gave a public lecture for FVM USK students. In this public lecture with the theme “Horse/Ruminant Reproduction”, Prof. Azam explained the causes of reproductive failure in horses.
Then, the second speaker, Dr. Choong Siew Shean, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs at FVM UMK, provided a general lecture on Teaching and Learning using Problem-based Learning Approach: From One Health Perspective.
The Rector of USK, represented by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Agussabti, M.Sc, received a visit from the FVM UMK delegation. He also greatly appreciated this return visit. The Vice-Rector hopes that USK can also expand its collaboration with UMK to other fields of knowledge in the future.
