The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Universitas Syiah Kuala (FKH USK) once again held its veterinarian inauguration and oath-taking ceremony for the June 2025 period on June 25, 2025. The event, held at the Dayan Dawood Academic Activity Center, celebrated the inauguration of 105 new veterinarians who passed the national competency examination. According to the report by the Coordinator of the Veterinary Professional Education Program at FKH USK, Drh. Budianto Panjaitan, M.Si., 53 of them graduated with the distinction of cum laude (with honors).

During the event, the Secretary General of the Indonesian Veterinary Medical Association (PB PDHI), Drh. Andi Wijanarko, M.M., representing the Chairperson, emphasized the importance of upholding the veterinary code of ethics. “This code of ethics is a crucial part of providing professional veterinary services. Therefore, it must be well understood and strictly adhered to by all Indonesian veterinarians,” said Drh. Andi Wijanarko, M.M.

The Rector of USK, represented by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Agussabti, M.Si., IPU, extended his congratulations to the newly inaugurated veterinarians and their parents or guardians. “I hope all new veterinarians will soon find employment in their fields of interest. Welcome to the real world, where you can apply your knowledge and skills while providing services in accordance with the applicable standards. May you all uphold the good name of your alma mater and professional organization,” said Prof. Agussabti.

In his remarks, the Dean of FKH USK stated that many of the newly inaugurated veterinarians had already secured employment. Additionally, some had received scholarships to pursue master’s degrees. “At today’s inauguration, the highest national CBT exam scorer was also among the graduates—Ikhsan Arya Pranata—who achieved a score of 93 points. This proves that the curriculum and implementation of veterinary professional education at FKH USK meet national standards,” said Drh. Teuku Reza.

The event also included the presentation of appreciation certificates to partner institutions involved in the veterinary professional education program. Awards were also given to the graduate with the highest national CBT score and the one with the highest GPA. A symbolic appreciation was presented to the delegation of FKH USK lecturers and students who won a gold medal at the 8th China (Shanghai) International Invention and Innovation Exhibition 2025, held from June 11–13, 2025, in Shanghai, China.

This event was attended by the Chair of the USK Academic Senate and several FKH USK partners, including the Aceh Livestock Service, BPTU-HPT Indrapuri, Medan Veterinary Center, Indonesian Quarantine Agency for Aceh, PT. Indojaya Agrinusa, Aceh Besar Agriculture Service, BKSDA Aceh, BBTNGL, PDHI Aceh Branch, and other institutional partners.
