On Monday, June 23, 2025, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Syiah Kuala (FKH USK), welcomed a visit and guest lecture by delegations from two prominent Chinese universities: Guangdong Ocean University (GDOU) and Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU). The visit was attended by 11 delegates from both institutions.
The visit, led by Prof. Xuefeng Wang, featured a guest lecture presented by representatives from each university. During the lecture, the delegates provided information on opportunities for master’s and doctoral studies, as well as training programs in China. They also explained various scholarship components available and the requirements to obtain them.
The event, held in the FKH USK auditorium, also included the signing of an Implementing Arrangement (IA) between four study programs at FKH USK and the College of Coastal Agriculture, GDOU.
Prof. Xuefeng Wang expressed that both GDOU and SHOU are enthusiastic about collaborating with FKH USK, particularly in research and education related to aquatic animal health. He also emphasized the exciting prospects for future studies in aquatic animal conservation.

“We hope that lecturers or students will soon pursue postgraduate studies at GDOU and SHOU with scholarships from China. In return, we will send speakers to the conference at FKH USK this coming October,” said Prof. Wang.
This collaboration received direct support from the Rector of Universitas Syiah Kuala, Prof. Dr. Ir. Marwan. “The cooperation between FKH USK and Guangdong and Shanghai Ocean Universities will further strengthen USK’s commitment to achieving its goal of becoming a World Class University and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals,” stated Prof. Marwan.
On the same occasion, the Dean of FKH USK, Drh. Teuku Reza Ferasyi, MSc., Ph.D., presented an overview of the faculty, highlighting its experts, laboratory excellence, and both national and international accreditations. The event was attended by professors, representatives of the Indonesian Veterinary Medical Association (PDHI) Aceh Branch, faculty members, staff, students, and other invited guests.
