Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) sent a delegation to participate in the ASEAN Universities Exhibition and Forum 2025 (AEF2025), held on February 24-25, 2025, at Sunway Hotel and Resort, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.

This higher education exhibition is the first and largest in ASEAN. Participants include universities from all ASEAN countries plus Timor-Leste. A total of 19 universities from Indonesia took part in the event, including USK.

AEF2025 was officially opened by the Malaysian Minister of Higher Education, YB Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir. During the event, Malaysia also introduced the ASEAN scholarship program called the Global Education Mobility and Scholarship (GEMS), which is available for students across ASEAN.

After inaugurating the event, the Malaysian Minister of Higher Education visited the USK booth as his first stop. He shared his deep impressions of several academics in Aceh and even tried a coffee-scented perfume from ARC USK.

The USK delegation at this event was represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, drh. Teuku Reza Ferasyi, MSc., PhD, and an international class lecturer, drh. Baidillah Zulkifli, MSi. USK’s participation aimed to promote the university to prospective students from ASEAN, showcasing various fields of study offered.

The event, organized by Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), was also attended by the Education and Culture Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Prof. Muhammad Firdaus, EMGS Director Datuk Ahmad Shalimin Ahmad Shaffie, and several representatives from ASEAN countries.
