Banda Aceh, 6 December 2024 – The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Syiah Kuala University (FVM USK), successfully organized a workshop titled “Veterinary Paramedic Examination Preparation” at the FVM USK Auditorium. The event was officially opened by the Dean of FVM USK, drh. Teuku Reza Ferasyi, M.Sc., Ph.D, who underscored the significance of certification in enhancing the skills, professionalism, and credibility of veterinary paramedics. Dr. drh. Hennivanda, M.Si, Coordinator of the Diploma III Animal Health Program, served as the moderator for the session.
The workshop featured drh. Hermawaty Br. Tarigan, M.Si, as the keynote speaker. Her presentation detailed the numerous benefits of competency certification, including validation of skills, better career opportunities, adherence to professional ethics, enhanced work performance, recognition on national and international levels, consumer protection, and increased credibility in the veterinary field. She also outlined the scope of the competency examination, covering various areas such as large ruminant livestock reproduction, agro-industry, poultry, agricultural extension, halal animal slaughtering, and animal health and quarantine.
Participants actively engaged in the discussions, recognizing the critical role of certification in shaping their future careers. This workshop reflects FVM USK’s commitment to equipping its veterinary paramedic students with the necessary tools to succeed professionally while adhering to the highest ethical and technical standards.
