The Clinical Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Syiah Kuala (FVM USK) serves as an academic and service unit supporting the implementation of the university’s tri dharma: education, research, and community service. This laboratory functions as a center for student practicum activities, academic research, and clinical diagnostic services for animals. Committed to excellence, the Clinical Laboratory aims to deliver accurate, timely, and science-based veterinary diagnostics to support the advancement of veterinary education and healthcare services.

Structurally, the Clinical Laboratory is divided into two main departments: the Department of Internal Medicine and the Department of Surgery and Radiology. The Department of Internal Medicine focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of systemic diseases in animals, including infectious, metabolic, and internal organ disorders. Meanwhile, the Department of Surgery and Radiology provides surgical procedures, anesthesia services, and diagnostic imaging, including digital radiography, to support comprehensive clinical care. Both departments collaborate closely to ensure an integrated and evidence-based approach to veterinary treatment.

The Clinical Laboratory is staffed by experienced veterinary clinicians and supported by skilled technical personnel. It is equipped with modern diagnostic tools, including hematology analyzers, blood biochemistry machines, digital radiography systems, and standard surgical equipment. Additionally, the laboratory plays an active role in advancing veterinary science through collaborations with veterinary teaching hospitals, research institutions, and clinical partners. With a strong foundation in professionalism and innovation, the Clinical Laboratory of FKH USK continues to contribute significantly to the development of veterinary medicine and the improvement of animal health services in Indonesia
