Banda Aceh – The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) has taken a significant step toward becoming a world-class academic unit by signing a series of strategic cooperation agreements with five institutional partners, both domestic and international.

The Dean of the Faculty, Teuku Reza Ferasyi, M.Sc., Ph.D., led the ceremony held on Tuesday (14 October 2025) at the AAC Dayan Dawood building on the USK campus, which was attended by vice-deans, programme coordinators, faculty senate members, researchers, and other invited guests.

The MoUs, MoAs and PKS (cooperation agreements) involve the following five partners:

According to Dean Ferasyi, the partnership with Liberec Zoological Garden exemplifies the Faculty’s commitment to biodiversity conservation through collaborative research and enhancing its international academic capabilities.

Meanwhile, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Partnerships, Faisal Jamin, Dr., M.Si., emphasised that these collaborations mark a critical milestone in positioning the Faculty on the global stage. He explained that the agreements will not only expand international research networks but also create internship opportunities, industrial linkages, and technology transfer for students and academics.

The scope of cooperation includes joint research, exchange of scientific information, human resource capacity building, and veterinary-technology based innovation. “With these five new partners, the Faculty reaffirms its commitment to building cross-sectoral synergy to enhance the quality of education, research and community service with global competitiveness,” the statement adds.
