Banda Aceh – Students of SMPIT Nurul Fikri Boarding School (NFBS) Aceh carried out an educational visit to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Syiah Kuala (FVM USK). This activity aimed to broaden students’ knowledge of veterinary science, particularly in the fields of anatomy and pathology.

The group was warmly welcomed by the Dean of FVM USK, Drh. Teuku Reza Ferasyi, M.Sc., Ph.D., along with the Vice Deans, lecturers, and the academic community of FVM USK. In his remarks, the Dean expressed his appreciation for the visit and emphasized the importance of nurturing a love for animals from an early age through education and direct experience.

In addition, the students had the opportunity to receive explanations from the lecturers of the Anatomy Laboratory, led by Drh. M. Jalaluddin, M.Sc., as the head of the laboratory, and from the Pathology Laboratory team, led by Dr. Drh. Siti Asiyah, M.Si. They explained animal anatomical structures, skeletal systems of various animals, vital organs, as well as examples of pathology cases used as learning materials for veterinary students.

The Principal of NFBS Aceh, Eko Prasetyo Budi, S.AP., M.AP., also conveyed his gratitude for the warm welcome given by FVM USK. According to him, this activity provided a valuable experience for students to broaden their insights, foster curiosity, and build awareness of the animal world.

The visit was filled with enthusiasm. The students looked excited as they listened to the explanations, observed anatomical specimen collections, and engaged in light discussions with lecturers and students.

It is hoped that this visit will not only provide new experiences for NFBS Aceh students but also strengthen relationships and collaboration between secondary education and higher education in supporting experiential learning.
